FRANKLY Retinol 0.1% Cream is a medium-strength retinol cream recommended for beginners. It contains pure retinol 0.1% (3,000 IU/g) and provides lifting and rejuvenating benefits to the skin, as well as restoring the skin, increasing the blood microcirculation, and strengthening the skin.

This advanced, well-aging, mid-strength retinol formula delivers lifting and rejuvenating benefits to the skin without the dryness commonly associated with Vitamin A. It contains 0.1% Retinol beloved to help with collagen production, skin turnover, and powerful anti-wrinkle properties and anti-wrinkle ingredient adenosine that supports collagen synthesis.

It also contains Ceramide NP effective in moisturising, soothing and creating a stronger moisture barrier. Combined with Ginseng fruit extract. they intensely nourish, help restore the skin, and protect it against dehydration and increases blood microcirculation. They help even out skin tone, stimulate cell regeneration, and strengthen the epidermal matrix.

Q. How does Retinol do to your skin? Wrinkles and loss of skin elasticity are caused by decreased collagen production and skin elasticity in the dermis which is part of the structure of the skin. Collagen naturally decreases due to environmental factors such as aging and UV rays. Retinol will deliver visible results in wrinkles by stimulating collagen gene and synthesis in the dermis.

Q. Do you need to wash retinol off in the morning? Retinol is weak against light and heat; we recommend using it at night. If applied during the daytime, be sure to use with a SPF. (* It is recommended to apply a SPF even if not applied during the daytime. Because it can be still left on skin in the next day.

Q. Who should not use retinol? It is suitable for those who have concerns about aging (wrinkles, low elasticity) but not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Please do not use it after non-surgical cosmetic procedure and using beauty equipment.

Q. It stings and turns red. Is it supposed to be like this? A high concentration of retinol can cause skin irritation such as redness and itching, however it’s not harmful effects but it’s burning accompanied by blood vessels to widen. It has nothing to do with skin problems.

Retinol can cause side effects skin irritations, erythema, skin peeling. It is recommended to use a small amount every other week during an adjustment period then increase it gradually.

HOW TO USE

1. Use in between serum and cream.
2. Make sure to use serum or lotion before you use retinol.
3. Use a small amount on the problem areas (wrinkles, etc.). When using it on the neck, make sure to put the serum on the neck as well. Finish with cream after you use retinol.
4. Use only a pea size amount. If it's your first time using retinol, use only a pea-sized amount towards problem areas. When your skin fully gets used to retinol, you can apply it to the whole face and gradually increase the amount to achieve the best results.
5. Period of adaptation.
   1. 2 weeks period of adaptation. If it's your first time using retinol, your skin will need time to get used to it. (1-2 weeks). Use it once in two days, only at night during the adaptation period. Use way less amount than you usually use (about a pea size). 
   2. After adaptation. When your skin fully gets used to retinol, you can apply it to the whole face and gradually increase the amount to achieve the best results.
6. Have an ‘adaption period’ when using retinol.
   1. WEEK 1~2 (Frequency: Use 3 times a week at night). How to Use: start with 0.3 of cream to concerned areas. Gradually increase frequency and areas of application.
   2. WEEK 3~ (Frequency: May apply every other day at night). How to use: Apply pea-sized amount and may spread over entire face.
      
      * To maintain the freshness of retinol ingredients, avoid storing in high temperatures and direct sunlight. KEEP REFRIGERATED (3-10℃).  Please use immediately after purchase and store upright in refrigerator once opened.
      * Since this product can increase sensitivity to sunlight, use sunscreen while using the product.
      * Do not pair with any scrub, peeling or exfoliating product as it can irritate the skin.

** CAUTIONS 

1. Use sunscreen! Due to the skin turnover that retinol causes, our skin becomes more sensitive. That's why we recommend using retinol in the evening. If you use it during the day or in the morning, make sure to apply sunscreen. However, even if you use it in the evening, don't forget to apply sunscreen the next morning.
2. Don't recommend using it in the following cases: Avoid using it after exfoliation, acne extraction, or laser treatment, as it may cause irritation. Do not combine it with products containing high levels of Vitamin C or strong chemical exfoliants. It's advisable to alternate the days when you use it.
3. If you have a sensitive skin: If you have sensitive skin, your skin may become red and flaky when you use retinol for the first time. It is a natural process of skin turnover, however, it is recommended that you apply a generous amount of soothing, moisturizing cream.

• Note: Make sure to patch test before use. 
• Not recommended when pregnant and/or breastfeeding. When pregnant or breastfeeding, it is recommended to avoid any retinoid products.
• After the use of retinol, the skin may feel stingy and may show signs of reddening due to deep skin exfoliation. Irritation is a temporary and normal symptom. If irritation persists, reduce the frequency or stop the use of the product.
• Due to the nature of the retinol component, the color may become darker or you may feel a unique odor.
• To maintain the freshness of retinol ingredients, avoid storing in high temperatures and direct sunlight.
• It is recommended to store it in the refrigerator when not used every day.
• Since this product can increase sensitivity to sunlight, use sunscreen while using the product.
• Do not pair with any scrub, peeling or exfoliating product as it can irritate the skin.
