What is an acne-prone skin? It refers to skin that is more susceptible to breakouts and blemishes.
What’s a common cause we often see for acne? Dehydration! It is a common misconception that if you have oily or acne-prone skin, you should use skincare that dries out your skin. But this can be the very reason you are breaking out. When your skin is feeling extra dry, it will create excess oil to bring it back to its normal state.
In most cases, the skin is producing too much oil because it is doing everything it can to retain water/hydration. The oil then serves to cover the skin with a protective layer so that hydration can no longer escape. So if you make sure that the skin is always supplied with enough hydration, the oil production regulates itself almost by itself.
